Jain and Sethi 1984 : This paper presents some of our current ideas, under active study, on establishing correspondence in a sequence of frames containing non-rigid motion. The proposed method uses path coherence to establish correspondence for smooth arbitrary motion of several objects. Our early experiments, though performed using synthetic data and very simple deviation function, are very encouraging. We are actively studying several aspects of this approach. A very important aspect of the proposed approach is that it considers information available in a dynamic scene, rather than trying to determine correspondence using only two frames. By considering extended spacetime region, we will be able to extend dynamic scene analysis to more complex motions of non-rigid objects.
